| A short mood piece that is carried by the unstable contrast of two types of sounds. The first type is near, intimate, gentle and therefore low; the second type is rough, aggressive, but from a distance and therefore low as well. “Nearness” and “distance” themselves are expressed in the crafting of the sounds, and in a very uncommon way, as the banal differentiating trait of volume is excluded from a thematic approach. The spheres are also separated from the base material: piano sounds (taken from the material of ‘LANDSCHAFT’) on the one hand, contrabass sounds (from the material of ‘EVE’) on the other hand. In the original 6-channel version, three speakers in a displaced triangular order (hexagram) are assigned to each sphere. |
