CONTEMPLATIONS :: Guenther Rabl :: Rumors

If rumors could be substantiated, I’d have equipment that NASA would envy me for! However, I have to assist myself in other ways: In the future, I will demand a security deposit for the deposition of rumors that can only be refunded if proof of the truth can be supplied within six weeks. (Expert opinions will surely not be accepted).
The formation of rumors lies in the dark. We know somewhat more about their spreading, which, for the most part, is provided for by so-called trade publications (a type of rainbow press for men). From the tenacity of rumors, one can deduce that their driving force must have deeper roots: There must be something consolatory in believing that the things that don’t function here can at least exist somewhere else – for instance, in America, which allegedly has already been discovered, while people in Europe are still waiting for the arrival of the gods.
