CONTEMPLATIONS :: Guenther Rabl :: Painting with Sounds

I am beginning more and more to ‘paint’ with sounds. Some elements instinctively happen ‘according to nature”. Yet, the analogy has its limits: There is no acoustic possibility of diminution that corresponds to the optical possibility. The painter can take in a landscape on a piece of paper. Time doesn’t allow for such a thing. The naturalistic acoustical tracing of a daily routine would have to last a day. Reproduction in music is, consequently, structural in nature. And that is also its strength.
