| CONTEMPLATIONS :: Guenther Rabl :: Outmoded Methods |
|
Every technical progress is, first of all, necessarily connected with an aesthetic regression. There’s no sense in beating around the bush – it simply is so. And an artist should only take on technical progress if he has the time and strength to once again make up for the regression that inevitably goes along with it. Otherwise, he better keep to habitual methods. There are also no “outmoded methods” or means. It is merely the stultified apologists of progress who constantly pick at them. However, a perspective of only a few years already shatters all of their arguments. |
